Dellner introduces 2 lightweight fail-safe brakes
Swedish brake system manufacturer Dellner Brakes has launched two SKPs for offshore and onshore cranes (purchasing supplies), winches (purchasing supplies), deck machinery (purchasing supplies), oil rig winches and other equipment. A new range of fail-safe brakes for spring applications.
Dellner's new SKP 180 brakes weigh 315Kg and offer brake forces from 141 kN to 226 kN through two brake boxes, each with a powerful spring-applied piston (purchased from the product library). The SKP 4 x 180 brake weighs 630 Kg and consists of two brake assemblies with a total of four pistons that provide a braking force of 453 kN.
Dellner's new SKP module design brakes are designed to provide larger brakes, combining several brake assemblies or custom-designed brake boxes with several pistons to provide greater braking power.
These brakes also have a range of additional options, including mounting brackets; double seal kits; brake pads made from several different friction materials; and indicators that show brake block wear.
Since these brakes are equipped with cylindrical guide pins, the tangential braking force of the brakes can be transmitted to the brake box and the mounting bracket. Therefore, the brake piston does not generate any radial force, so the brake and cylinder seal can be used for a longer period of time.
After the brake lining is worn, the length required for the brake piston adjustment is extended by the adjustment nut. The disc spring can be adjusted to compensate and maintain the full braking force of the brake.
