Recently, China Netcom learned from the Tianjin Environmental Protection Bureau that the Tianjin Environmental Protection Bureau is currently conducting the environmental protection acceptance examination for the DQ380 double-clutch automatic transmission capacity expansion project of Volkswagen Automatic Transmission (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. It is understood that after the completion of the expansion of the new plant, the production capacity of the DQ380 transmission will be expanded from the original 300,000 units/year to 450,000 units/year, and it will be equipped with various models such as Speedway and Lingdu in the future.

According to the documents recently released by Tianjin Environmental Protection Bureau, Volkswagen Group intends to increase the production and auxiliary equipment in the existing joint culvert building at Tianjin Gearbox Factory, and the capacity of the DQ380 dual clutch automatic transmission will be 300,000 units/year. Raised to 450,000 units/year, with a total investment of US$200 million.

The Volkswagen Group has two gearbox production plants in China, located in Tianjin and Dalian respectively. Among them, Volkswagen Automatic Transmission (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. was established on July 16, 2012, located in the north of Zhongnan 5th Street in the west area of ​​Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Zone. Currently, it mainly produces DQ380 (main supply A3), DQ500 (Q3) and DL382 ( A6L, Volkswagen Huiang), DL383 (all new generation A4L) and other series of dual clutch transmissions.

Among them, DQ380 is a 7-speed wet dual-clutch gearbox. In general, the DQ380 is lubricated with engine oil. It has many advantages such as low friction, small damage, small mixed impact, and slow temperature rise. However, the wet clutch is higher in manufacturing cost than the dry clutch, resulting in an increase in the cost of post-maintenance and maintenance. The overall transmission efficiency is also not obvious from the dry clutch, but the dry and dry ratio is lower than the dry clutch. Clutch still has some advantages.

As for the models, Ling Du is the first coupe of SAIC-VW, and it is also the first domestic model equipped with a DQ380 transmission (only available on 1.8T models). The last generation of SKODA’s Skoda was equipped with a DQ250 dual clutch transmission. The introduction of a new generation of models will match the DQ380 gearbox, bringing more power and fuel economy to the new car. In addition, FAW-Volkswagen Golf and Audi A3 and other models of the Volkswagen Group, are equipped with a DQ380 series gearbox, the future is expected to be equipped with such a drive system in more models.
