PPG Industrial recently announced that it has signed a letter of intent with a company in India. The parties agreed to establish a joint venture company with 50% shareholding in the production and sale of glass fiber reinforced products. The completion of this transaction depends on the negotiation of the terms of the final agreement.

Thomas Keke, PPG's vice president of fiberglass division, stated: “The expected sustained economic growth in India will help to boost the demand for glass fiber. PPG currently has no fiberglass production base in India, however, we have been exporting to the region. Fiberglass to help our customers carry out business activities. We are pleased to continue to extend PPG's global reach, especially in emerging markets.”
