Kansanshi Mining Company, a Zambian copper mining company, announced that it will build a world-class metallurgical sulfuric acid plant. Currently, Outotec, a Finnish supplier of mining and metalworking equipment, has signed a technical service contract with the company to provide gas purification systems and design, construction and technical services for the sulphuric acid plant. It is understood that the sulphuric acid plant is located in Solwezi Province in the northwestern part of Zambia and will have a capacity of 1.2 million tons/year after completion.
