According to the latest statistics released by the China Rubber Association yesterday, from January to May 2011, the total output value of China's tire industry increased by 21.27% year-on-year, comprehensive tire output increased by 2.44% year-on-year, radial tire production increased by 6.11% year-on-year, and all-steel radial tire output increased year-on-year. 3.94%, the meridianization rate reached 86.18%, an increase of 2.98 percentage points over the same period last year. Sales revenue increased by 21.80% year-on-year, and export tire delivery value increased by 33.03% year-on-year.

The China Rubber Association pointed out that the increase in the main economic indicators for the forty-four key member companies in the tire industry from January to May was weaker than that of the same period of last year, of which the increase in output declined significantly.

However, the inflection point appeared in May. According to the relevant person in charge of the association, the export of tires hit a new high in May, driven by record highs in automobile exports. “According to statistics from the association’s 44 companies, the value of tire export delivery in May reached 6.11 billion yuan, which was an increase of 34.19% from the previous month and an increase of 40.02% from the previous year.”

The "tire special protection case" occurred on June 29, 2009. At that time, the US International Trade Commission proposed to impose 55%, 45%, and 35% ad valorem special tariffs on China's passenger-to-substance passenger cars and light truck tires for three consecutive years.

The reporter learned from the Qingdao Double Star Group that the export volume of Double Star tyres reached 130 million yuan in the first half of this year, an increase of 30% compared with the same period of last year, and exports to more than 100 countries and regions. Wang Hai, president of the Double Star Group, told reporters that in the post-financial crisis era, DoubleStars has opened up new markets in Africa, Middle East and South America, opening up a new market for the tire industry.

The related person of Tire Tire Company stated that the "tire special protection case" was mainly aimed at car tires, and the company's sales of products mainly consisted of engineering tires and heavy-duty tires. The special protection case had little impact on the company's profits.
